Birthday is a symbol of the passage of time, an objective indicator of aging. It is also an event that is celebrated, on which you congratulate, but in the same time a reminder of what you "should have", "should" and "must" do.

 

A given age implies fulfillment of specific social, family, emotional, educational and personal standards. Stereotypical best wishes mean nothing, or are just a representation of fear from unfulfillment of these standards.

 

The date of birth becomes completely impersonal and deforms into a test of fitting in the required behavior and goals.

This work was filmed at the dinner table where I celebrated my each birthday. By opening these musical greeting cards, a pretty unpleasant cacophony is created.

There are exactly 21 cards, that was my age at the moment.
